For a special, special friend.

Twas the night before Christmas,
The moment you stop and stare,
When you realized I am the lamest,
Because 10 seconds of your life is wasted!

Fail is this poem for it didn't rhyme,
Forgive me, I shant repeat,
Now I shall make it worth your time,
For reading one is indeed a rare treat!

Eunice Quay, a name to remember,
For her wisdom how great a tutor,
It guides the feeble, it empowers the weak,
As her words gives them hope they seek.

Eunice Quay, a name to remember,
As her smile how helpful a mender,
For it robs one's grief and brings him joy,
Likened unto a crying child given a toy.

Eunice Quay, a name to remember,
Her passion and sincerity I truly admire,
None can compare thus far I've seen,
For I bear witness to the friend within.

One above all strikes me in fear,
One above all reminds me ever so dear,
Is her love and her tender care,
That surpasses all except our Lord up there.

Eunice Quay, you truly are special,
There is none out there, none your equal,
Years have passed and I've seen you in action,
As you grew from a child, girl to a woman.

You've shed tears, and plenty of them,
You've fallen in love(?)..ahem ahem,
From each fall you've stood up stronger,
Now that's what I call someone mature.

Never often do you hear me praising any Tom, Dick and Harry,
For I only extol the deserving and the worthy,
You my dear have earned my honour and regard,
Hence shall your reward be from my sincere heart!

I am honoured to be your friend,
There is no greater pleasure than this indeed,
I am lazy to rhyme this last one,
So please forgive me!

Eunice Quay, have a happy 17th birthday. You've been
good to me all my life, someday I hope I will repay the
debt I owe you. Know that you're greatly loved, not only
by me, but by all those lives whom you've touched.

May the good Lord bless and keep you, all the days of your
life.

The good times :)

Still is my favourite picture of us together!

Something for the ladies. . .

Nopes, ain't talking about that song sung by FOTC but really, just spare this thought some time and let it dwell in you if you agree with it. My maths teacher once talked to us about her love life and how she met her husband plus the entire rom-com that accompanied all the silly things they did. However, there were some serious things that she mentioned and I quote and paraphrase her,

". . .the wife must give her husband time to accumulate and earn the wealth that took her parents decades to save. This is especially true for those who come from a wealthy family background. . ."

In other words, don't expect us to conjure up a sack of gold upon saying "yes, I do" or having and endless amount of cash at our disposal. I'm not stereotyping all ladies for expecting their hubbys to be walking ATMs but remember, the time may come that he may skip that one month's shopping allowance. Remember then that he needs time, much time, to provide all the comfort the luxury that you once enjoyed with your parents!

TOP 5 FAVOURITE ICE CREAM FLAVOURS

For those of you who know me personally, you'd probably hear of the crazy ice cream fan I am. Having a sweet tooth for this sugary goodness, I'm bound to have some favourites.

5. CHOCOLATE CHIP

Yes the average Joe's dessert actually made it to the list. Although simple and somewhat plain, this is a popular pick among hungry snackers as chocolate alone won't do without the chips. Really an all-time favourite, they're always welcome to give me another dose of diabetic delights.

4. ROCKY ROAD
No one said the journey to a thousand pounds would be easy. These fellas make it all easier with loads of chunky nuts lodged snugly into the surrounding sweet stuff. Best known to be eaten by the bucket, the next-door American potato couch would definitely have this stocked up in his freezer for the CSI:Miami marathon. A great bite anytime!

3. COOKIES AND CREAM
How predictable. Every fat kid dreams of playing in heaps of these, making snowmen out of them and swimming in molten ice cream. No doubt these snowy savouries will please even the most ice cream deprived plumpkin. I'm no exception and whenever I get the chance, I chow down hard, leaving a only a clean cup behind. NOM NOM NOM!

2. VANILLA

Nuf' sed. A unique and tangible ecstasy runs down my spine every time I have vanilla ice cream. Maybe it's the icy feeling of satisfaction as it slides down my tongue, or simply because it tastes ridiculously amazing? You be the judge, just don't finish it before you get back your senses.

1. MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP

Yes, many haters out there demand that my blood be spilled right now. But still, the peppermint reigns supreme. The subtle frostbite coupled along with it's chilling touch and awesome flavour really brightens my day. The chocolate chips go along hand in glove with it's distinct minty taste. Perfect for an afternoon dessert on a hot day or just to appease the sweet tooth in me.

Droplets in the ocean

People are going places and doing things.

When is it my turn?

When will my life begin?

So many questions unanswered.

Where is she? How does she look like?

Who is she..?

Time shall answer all questions. All my questions.

Time I have until the ripples fade away.

TOP 5 MOST HATED FOOD

I love food, but at the same time there are some yuckies I can't stomach. Like they old folks say, "One man's meat is another man's poison"

5. ABALONE

 yucks

Really? Abalones, really? This particular ocean catch baffles me. It tastes like chewing gum, chews like chewing gum and really there's nothing good about it. It tastes bland, looks like an oversized eraser, way overpriced and qualifies to be in this list for sure. Epic Meal Time ain't got business with this homie.

4. BITTER GOURD

 I'll take the beef kthxbye

No doubt this green meanie will make it here. The old folks argue that it's good for your skin, makes your complexion better, improves this bla bla bla. Not for me, I ain't buying that. If it tastes bad and I have a choice not to take it, no way it's going into my mouth. Usually it's cooked with EGGS. Why why why must you tarnish the sunny awesomeness of the eggs!

3. YELLOW NOODLES

"braainss"
Many may argue that these golden strands of gluttony are an Asian delicacy but to the haters like me, we just keep hatin'. The ginormous amounts of boric acid in these little goldilocks spell a quick trip to the hospital for you fans out there. For some reason they taste horrible to me. The very moment I start chewing is also the very moment that calls for the bucket. So don't shove this into my mouth.

see?

2. DURIAN

I'm not going to repeat myself. I said no..

Haters keep hatin' and I'm one of them. Call me anti-Malaysian, ang moh, white man, whatever! I'm not going to try this local specialty...for the 100th time. My family has been trying to get me hooked onto the king of fruits for ages. They must have thought their child came from storks or down the chimney when I told them durians taste terrible. Apart from that, the stench they release smells to the high heavens plus they can potentially send you there! Caution, don't ever try getting me to eat these.

5. COCKLES AKA SEA HAM

stay in there, don't come out

I really have no idea how this monstrosity came into the list of edible sea creatures. The very existence of the dark depths of the ocean is meant for stuff like this! Humanity, or a part of it, could very well do without them. I can't possibly think of biting into one of these. Tried it ONCE and from then on, completely gave up for the rest of my entire life. Yes, it only took me one try to impose a total ban on this. The worst part is that they cook it with Char Koay Teow. No words can describe how much I detest eating them. Yeaps, haters keep hatin'.

Great food, great people

Had some wonderful makan outings recently. Christine and I headed over to Carl's J for lunch last Friday in celebration of my results heh. We couldn't resist snacking on some good ice cream after lunch at New Zealand Naturals!

walnut something, hokey pokey and cookies 'n cream

candid!

Yesterday my family took me out to yet another great eatery down at PJ. Boathouse is a cafe-cum-restaurant which serves up some delicious western and eastern delights. The chef is a single unmarried woman. Take note guys.

the talented chef, playing fruit ninja and getting a low score. how ironic

yes people, this place is decked with alcohol and booze

the bar counter is actually an aquarium with fishes swimmin' inside!
In order to prevent unnecessary drooling and seizures I've decided not to take pictures of the food we ordered. You could say I conveniently forgot. In plain words, we ordered a beef tenderloin, chilli-baked chicken wings, mint-olive salmon fillets, glazed pork ribs, salmon pasta, cempedak chicken yes, cempedak chicken and mushroom soup for the soul. A great dinner no doubt.

Ooh, I drew a rainbow. With my highlighters!

"double rainbow all the way across the sky, yeah yeaaah so intense!"

VICTOREH!

I couldn't sleep the entire night. From 1am to 2 I was pacing up and down the hall, wondering what the outcome might be. I tried to psych myself to sleep, telling me it'll be alright. Somehow my subconscious didn't allow me to blot out my negative thoughts. Up till 7am I waited for the candidate site to be open. Alas at the moment of reckoning, the Internet failed me and I could not proceed to view my results. After catching 40 winks and skipping my Accounts class I strode on to college and someone shouted CONGRATULATIONS and I was like whuutt?
Yes, you couldn't be more right. I scored well for my exams. Praise the Lord for it! 3A's with 95 for Accounts, 91 for Math and 88 for Econs was really a relief to my thumping heart. Indeed I am grateful to all those who lent me their support and help during my studies and trials. Well..I guess all that's left to say is..

:D

Wife on holiday

I won't be blogging too often now. For those of you who know why, well you'd understand. My beloved wife has taken leave for a few months so I'm all alone here in college. Will return after my A2 exam ending in November!

Quote of the day

Heard something that pricked me deeper today.

Ms See: Class, turn to page 461, page 461. I will guide you.

Sometimes we forget the people who led us by the hand. We take for granted those who taught us how to walk, run and now fly. Remember it is because of them that today, we stand triumphant against unnumbered foes.
